Child safety

Strangers Chat has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page sets out how we prevent CSAE on our service, how you can report it and how we cooperate with authorities, in line with applicable child safety laws and Google Play's CSAE standards.

Our zero-tolerance policy

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content, conduct or solicitation that sexually exploits or endangers minors is strictly prohibited on Strangers Chat. We proactively work to prevent such content, act swiftly when concerns are reported and remove offending material. Users responsible for such content are permanently banned, and we report confirmed incidents to the police and competent child protection organisations, transferring the data required by law.

Adults only

Strangers Chat is strictly for adults aged 18 or older. Minors are not permitted to register, sign in or otherwise use the service. During sign-up, each user must confirm their date of birth and agree that they are at least 18 years old. Accounts identified as belonging to a minor are removed immediately.

Prohibited content and conduct

The following are strictly forbidden and will be removed on sight:

  • Any sexual or sexually suggestive content involving a minor, real or generated.
  • Grooming, sexual solicitation, sextortion or any other sexualised interaction with a minor.
  • Sharing, requesting or linking to child sexual abuse material.
  • Pretending to be a minor, or attempting to contact users you suspect or know to be minors.
  • Circumventing age restrictions or helping others to do so.

How to report CSAE

If you encounter child sexual abuse material or behaviour targeting a minor on Strangers Chat, please report it immediately. You can:

  • Use the report button available on each chat to flag inappropriate messages or users.
  • Email support@strangersapp.com with as much detail as possible (user, time, what happened). Reports are confidential.
  • Reach us through our contact page.

Our house rules explain what is not allowed on the service.

Reporting to authorities

Suspected child sexual abuse material should also be reported to the relevant authorities in your country:
